Amy Raphael Writes…

Current books:

A Seat at the Table: Women on the Frontline of Music, published by Virago in June 2019, includes interviews with Christine & the Queens, Kate Tempest, Alison Moyet, Poppy Ajudha, Emmy the Great, Ibeyi, Maggie Rogers, Tracey Thorn, Jessica Curry and Nadine Shah. It was widely reviewed: ‘Raphael has carved a vital space for female artists to “woman spread”, as it were, and speak freely’ (The Observer); ‘Variously optimistic, troubling, joyful, illuminating, fierce and thoughtful’ (The Guardian); ‘Fascinating and illuminating’ (Stylist); ‘A perceptive and candid collection of new interviews’ (Irish Times).

A Game of Two Halves: Famous Football Fans Meet Their Heroes, will be published by Allen & Unwin in October 2019 to raise money for displaced children via UNHCR. It includes forewords by Raheem Sterling and Gary Lineker and conversations between the likes of John Bishop & Jürgen Klopp, Johnny Marr & Pep Guardiola, Clare Balding & Lucy Bronze, David Morrissey & Steven Gerrard, Omid Djalili & Frank Lampard, Rachel Riley & Rio Ferdinand, Wretch 32 & Ian Wright, David Lammy & Eric Dier and more.

I also host Q&As for the likes of BAFTACINECITY Brighton Film Festival, the Brighton Festival and many others.

Recent journalistic feutres include Kate Winslet for the Radio Times, women in music for the Daily Telegraph and regular design features for Show Media.
